What am I crushing on this week?
Well I am loving the quilt I am working on at the moment. Even though I am not a pink person I could easily keep this quilt although it has someone else’s name on it. It is the Anne of Green Gables – a Penny Rose fabric.
While I am stitching this quilt in the ditch I am listening to a novel by Emilie Richards – Sister’s Choice. It is from her Shenandoah series. This series inspired me to take up quilting, I just loved the characters and the quilting. At present I am rereading the series via audiobook and loving them all over again.
Blocks I completed this past week.
- Bloom #5
- Grandma’s Kitchen #5 A Pat Sloan QAL This one is called glasses and cups. Honestly I don’t remember my grandma’s glasses and cups. But I do remember the great pots of tea they made and the many times we sat down to a good cup of tea and some home baking with them. I still drink tea using leaves and a pot – thanks to both my nanas for this great tradition!

Hi Kathryn,
I love Anne of Green Gables – that quilt looks lovely. Great idea to listen to a book on tape while quilting. I usually have the TV on with an old Matlock or Columbo playing – something I don’t have to actually watch. I’m playing along with Grandma’s Kitchen, too. I never got to know my grandparents but it is still fun to stitch along. Love your block! ~smile~ Roseanne

I was lucky to know both of mine into my teens for one and twenties for another. But then being the oldest in the family helps. Yes I guess old shows you know would help sewing and watching TV. Otherwise I couldn’t do it! Radio is good though as well.

I read or listened to all of those books too. I thought she was spot on with the quilting part. Enjoy your book and quilting. I’m listening to a Chet and Bernie mystery, Scents and Sensibility by Spenser Quinn while I’ve been quilting. Bernie is a PI in Arizona — the book is narrated by Chet, his dog. Quite a fun series of books.
