Plans for the Last Week

  • Hand sew binding to J Steves Bom ’21 and so finish. Done. And was my February Month Goal
  • Make Sewcialites Block #17. Yes made the six inch and three inch.  The Simplicity Block designed by Vanessa Goertzen. Sewcialites #17
  • Add final border to the NICU top. Done.  I found enough fabric to make the required size for the border so I didn’t need to make a patchwork one.  So this takes care of the 6 inch blocks I made from A Quilting Life’s BOM.6 AQL 2022

Plans for the Coming Week

This week I think will be a “whatever week”. I have blocks I can make in a few projects. I will wait to see what my March month goal will be and then start to work on that. I have a list of 12 things to progress, but am following along with Sherri at a Quilting Life for giving us the number in  her Patreon group. Of course Sewcialites #18 block for sure.  Possibly wash a quilt or two depending on the weather.

Happy Little Things Finish

OMG Feb logo

Linking up with Elm street Quilts.

My February goal was to finish up Happy Little Things – a BOM designed by Jacquelynne Steves in 2021.  I made the top then but just put it away.

I took the top and found a backing for it from a left over wide backing and quilted it and put binding on it.

It measures about 43 1/2 inches by 53 1/2 inches. I am not into putting quilts on walls so what could this be used for?  Fabric is by Sherri and Chelsi.

I think it would make a good knee quilt or something you could put on the floor for a baby to lie on. Apart from that I am not sure.

To Do Tuesday. February 21st

Plans for Last Week

  • Make binding for BOM quilt by J Steves and sew the machine part on.  Done
  • Make Block 16 of Sewcialites sew along when it publishes. Done.This was designed by Corey Yoder and was certainly one of the more challenging blocks. I  made it in the 6 inch finished. I’ll leave the 3 inch alone! One day though I’d like to make this block in various sizes. Block 16 Sewcialites
  • Sew the blocks together of the blue and yellow blocks from sewcialites – made 12 in this combination as want to make NICU quilt top with them. Done as far as getting to the final border which I need to think about. I don’t have one piece of fabric for it so guess I’ll have to do something scrappy. NICU Sewcialites
  • Anything that might come along, like maybe another block with the Scrappy Irish Double Chain. Made one.  If I make it full size its going to be very big. At this stage I am not sure what I will do. Irish Chain

Plans for the Coming Week

  • Hand sew binding to J Steves Bom ’21 and so finish
  • Make Sewcialites Block #17
  • Add final border to the NICU top

Plans for Last Week.

  • Pin and start quilting the BOM with Jacquelynne Steves  from ’21. It is a smaller quilt so will be easier to move around.  To finish this is also going to be my OMG for February.

A Finish To Celebrate

I missed last week, we have had some hot (for us) humid weather. The other day I came out of shop into it and thought this is like walking out of the airport at Singapore. Thankfully it has lessened since then. However I was too hot to sew or do much reading. However will see what this week brings.

Plans  Were

  • I am going to work on the final border for the Chilhowie top and then I can call that part of it finished.  Done and now I am not sure I really like it, will put it away for awhile and maybe one day quilt it! Chilhowie top
  • Sewcialites block of course when it publishes. Done and two weeks worth.  Two latest blocks in the foreground. Sewcialites blocks
  • Continue to quilt to BOM from A Quilting Life 2022 Done – all finished and love this one. I mostly stitched in the ditch around everything and added some fmq in sashing and borders.  Fabric was designed by Sherri & Chelsi.BOM AQL Quilt 2022Quilting up close '22
  • Anything that takes my fancy.  I made one more block for the Double Irish Chain and now have to wait for fabric.

Plans for the Coming Week.

  • Pin and start quilting the BOM with Jacquelynne Steves  from ’21. It is a smaller quilt so will be easier to move around.  To finish this is also going to be my OMG for February.

Finish Up a Quilt Left Languishing

Linking up with Elm St Quilts One monthly Goal

I haven’t participated in this for quite a few months, having taking part in Sherri McConnell’s UFO challenge in her Patreon group where we have each listed 12 items to work on – not necessarily finish but to give some sewing love to during the month that its number comes up.

This time it was #7 and that was the BOM ’21 with Jacquelynne Steves.  When I had made the top – yes, I didn’t like it! Still don’t really, but it would make a knee quilt perhaps or if you like really bright a baby could lie on it. Anyway February is its time to be quilted.

So my goal is to quilt and bind it by the end of February.
