This past week has been productive – one quilt completely finished and gifted to one of my sisters.
Garden Charm Quilt
Finishing this meant I was able to focus on some of the BOM’s I am working on.
I have been working on the assigned recent splendid sampler blocks. (six inch blocks) Happy to say I am now up to date with the 2017 Splendid Sampler quilt along.
Sew South was designed by Jennifer Mathis
Early Bird was designed by Joan Ford. I used the paper piecing rather than the traditional piecing. She has a tutorial for the traditional pieced bird. I might try it some time.
Circle of Friendship designed by Michelle Muska
Homeward Bound designed by Kelly Liddle
Starting Point designed by Lissa Alexander
I also managed one block – Block 4 in the Bloom quilt at Bee in my Bonnet.
This week I also finished two blocks int he Grandma’s Kitchen QAL with Pat Sloan. Links go to my posts about them.

Hi Kathryn,
WOW – I guess you had a productive week. I love that little quilt bundle – I’ll bet your sister loves it. I’m doing the GK QAL too. It’s my first QAL. I really like your Homeward Bound and Starting Point blocks. You must be ahead on what you need for the month just based on how much you completed during the week. ~smile~ Roseanne

Once a big job is completed it opens up the door for the piecing of smaller blocks which does make me feel in charge!!

I’ve been thinking about what I want to do for my August main goal and while I am joining a new QAL there is another project as well I may need to get into.

Your fabrics for the splendid sampler are so nice! This is a lot of work – it takes a good bit of time to do individual blocks that are different from each other – way to go! Thanks for sharing at BOMs Away. And lucky sister. 🙂

Thanks Lynette, doing the SS is a good way for me to learn about blocks, although 6 inch ones are small!
